Wakabayashi was a Deadman and a former member of Scar Chain.

At some point in the past, Wakabayashi was imprisoned in Deadman Wonderland. Later, he joins a resistance faction within the prison known as Scar Chain. He lost his left leg at some point.

Wakabayashi was always seen in his wheelchair. He had spiked, brown hair that pointed backward. His eyes were light brown. He wore a black t-shirt with a light purple line over his shoulders and sleeves. There was a purple and green logo on his shirt. He also wore red pants and was missing his left leg.

Wakabayashi appeared to be a kind individual like other members of Scar Chain.

Scar Chain Arc[]

Wakabayashi assisted in the Deadman Wonderland mass prison break. He helps lead Deadman Wonderland guards astray during this attempt. Later, during Bundō Rokuro's attack on Scar Chain, Wakabayashi was present. When Kiyomasa Senji shows up and kills Mōzuri Gazuchi and Shinagawa Dōkoku, Scar Chain finishes the Undertakers off. He and the others beat information out of Bundō and then head off. During their second attempt, he assists the remaining members of Scar Chain in rescuing Karako and Shiro. He ends up losing his life to Nagi Kengamine in the manga.

Wakabayashi shooting his rocket at the Undertakers

Branch of Sin: Wakabayashi was a Deadman which allowed him to freely move his blood outside of his body. His personalized Branch of Sin was never shown.

Rocket: Wakabayashi was shown using a rocket with a certain degree of veracity against Undertaker soldiers.

  • In the anime, his corpse is seen alongside deceased Undertakers and Hagire Rinichirō (In Toto Sakigami's body). It is unknown if the Undertakers or Hagire killed Wakabayashi.[1]
