Bonbu is an ex-Defense Force soldier who is an acquaintance of Makina. He assisted her in overthrowing Tsunenaga Tamaki and destroying Deadman Wonderland.

Makina past

Bonbu in the Special Forces.

He joined the Special Forces sometime in the past. There, he met and befriended Makina, Ekō Kaidō and Kashima Toraichi.

During his time there, his face was bandaged, so it is likely that his face was burned during that time.

Bonbu is a tall and slim young man. He has long black hair, with two bangs besides his face. He keeps his hair in a pony-tail. He has a very large, vertical burn scar over his left eye, the reason why his left eye is always closed. He wears a black shirt with a long combat vest over it and cargo pants.

Bonbu is an odd individual, often saying mean or stupid things. Kashima often corrects him when he says such things and he usually replies with "I see.". As an ex-soldier, Bonbu can be calm and collected. Bonbu utilizes bombs in combat, saying that he believes guns to be inconvenient.

Revolt Arc[]

Bonbu is first seen driving alongside Kashima and Ekō, delivering equipment to Makina at Deadman Wonderland. Later, as a test, he and Kashima attack Makina. After the scuffle, Makina states that they are now members of the Deadman Wonderland Special Hunting Force and that they'll move once their route has been decided upon.

He is again seen, later on, waiting for Makina to come up with a route. He is also present during Makina's speech to the Deadman Wonderland guards. He later assists Makina in her fight against the Forgeries. We soon see him assisting in the attack on Tsunenaga Tamaki.

Later, Bonbu is seen in a hospital with Kashima and Ekō discussing the operation.

After a short time skip, Bonbu is seen alongside Makina, Kashima and Kasuga Kyōko training a group of soldiers.

  • "Bonbu" is a nickname that sounds like "bomb", directly hinting to his specialty, bombing.
